Reparations for BUSD Students

Repairing the Past, Investing in the Future

Repair must begin with our children.

Our goal is to support the recommendations of the BUSD Reparations Task Force:

1. To conduct a historical study documenting activities by BUSD that caused harm to descendant students and BUSD's efforts at repair

2. To develop and implement curricula for all BUSD students on the legacy of chattel slavery at the federal, state, and local levels

3. To provide educational opportunity grants to BUSD students who are descendants of enslaved Americans

These recommendations represent a modest but courageous and necessary step towards addressing the legacy of slavery in the United States through meaningful and forward-looking forms of reparations.

Every dollar you give brings us closer to justice.

Your donation to the Berkeley Reparations Coalition directly supports educational equity for BUSD students descended from enslaved Americans.
